New Delhi: Slamming the BJP government over the handling of Covid-19 situation in the country, Congress Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand Dhiraj Prasad Sahu said that the central government has been meting out "step-motherly treatment" to Jharkhand amid the Corona crisis.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Sahu said, "The Center is not worried about the residents of Jharkhand as the state is not getting an adequate amount of oxygen cylinders, ventilators and Remdesivir. In such a situation, how will the state government vaccinate those above 18 years?"
Not only Jharkhand, but the central government also is not helping all non-BJP ruled states at all in such a gloomy situation. It is very unfortunate that those states are being discriminated against.
Jharkhand reported a record of 149 Covid-19 deaths in a single day, pushing the toll to 2,395, while the tally climbed to 2,21,489 with 8,075 fresh cases. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday received the first dose of the Covid vaccine and appealed to the people to get inoculated.
He had said the state government would provide Covid- 19 vaccine to people above 18 years of age for free.
