CBSE to conduct Term 1 exams for Classes X, XII in mid-November

The exam, spanning 90 minutes, will be held offline wherein students will have to physically attend the examination hall allotted to them and take the exam, comprising multiple choice questions (MCQs), on Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets. There will be no practical exams.

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct Term 1 of the two-term exams for Class X and Class XII beginning mid-November. The board is expected to announce the exam dates by mid-October.

The exam, spanning 90 minutes, will be held offline wherein students will have to physically attend the examination hall allotted to them and take the exam, comprising multiple choice questions (MCQs), on Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets. There will be no practical exams.

In view of the COVID-19 situation, the CBSE will hold the Term 1 examination in a flexible schedule with a window period of four to eight weeks for schools situated in different parts of the country and abroad.

The second term exams will be held in March-April and will comprise subjective type questions and practical components. The final score of a student will be based on his/her combined performance in both terms, the CBSE had earlier said.

The CBSE has also rationalised the syllabus for 2021-22 academic year. “The syllabus for the academic session 2021-22 will be divided into two terms by following a systematic approach by looking into the interconnectivity of concepts and topics by the Subject Experts,” an official order by Joseph Emmanuel, Director (Academic), CBSE read.

The CBSE has also started the process for submission of the list of candidates (LOC) for Class X and Class XII. Schools can submit LOC of students for 2022 board exams through e-pariksha portal at cbse.gov.in.
