Meghalaya: At least six people died as a bus carrying at least 21 passengers fell into a river in Meghalaya on Thursday. The bus fell into the Ringdi River at Nongchram here at 12am.
Four dead bodies have been recovered so far. Sources said that two dead bodies are still trapped inside the bus. As many as 16 passengers have been rescued and taken to the nearby hospital.
According to reports, the accident took place at the Nongshram bridge along East Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills district border. The injured passengers said that the bus was at a very high speed. As soon as the incident took place, the Rongjeng and Williamnagar Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot.
