Pilibhit (Uttar Pradesh): Rakesh Tikait, the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, who is on a one day visit to Pilibhit in the state lashed out at the UP CM Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government. Speaking about the upcoming 2022 assembly elections, Rakesh Tikait said that in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP will form a government on the lines of the Taliban, adding that a similar pattern has been seen in the last panchayat elections.
"Whoever tries to speak the truth, their voice is being suppressed. In the present BJP government, the camera and pen are guarded by guns," Tikait said.
Attacking the BJP government, Rakesh Tikait said that the BDC and Zilla Panchayat members who refused to vote in the last panchayat elections were threatened, claiming that their properties would be deemed illegal and razed using bulldozers.

Rakesh Tikait, on Sunday, speaking to ETV Bharat had also attacked PM Modi's government by comparing it to the North Korean Dictator, Kim Jong-un's rule. He also said that Narendra Modi and the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh are trying to show their development works among the public by rotating the propaganda vehicle. Whereas the reality is that development has not happened anywhere in the state. He further added that the government has failed on all issues like employment and has been lying till now. He added that the UP government will get a gold medal in telling lies.
On the question of contesting the elections of the Kisan Union in Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming 2022 elections, Tikait said that the job of farmers is not to contest elections.
