Patna: In a shocking incident, a railway employee murdered his COVID positive wife and allegedly committed suicide by jumping off from the terrace of his apartment. The man has been identified as Atul Lal who worked as Railway station master.
The incident has been reported in Chitragupta Nagar under Patrakar police station limits. Primary investigation suggests that that the accused was reportedly upset with his wife after she tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The victim, has been identified as Tulika Lal, who tested positive for the virus five days and the couple was engaged in a heated argument from the past few days.
According to sources, two children of the couple are eye-witness to the crime and saw their father killing their mother over an altercation.

The couple was engaged in a fight on Monday morning and the husband killed her wife with a sharp weapon in a fit of rage.
The children tried saving their mother and couldn't save her. The security guard of the apartment told that the family used to live in the flat for the past four years.
"Tulika tested positive for the novel coronavirus six days ago. The couple used to fight every now and then and even the neighbors did not come to their rescue, " he said.

The couple lived in Om Residency apartment near Munna Chak area located near Parvati road. Police swung into action and have launched an investigation into the matter.
"The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. The woman worked in a private firm and we are investigating the matter," police said.
