New Delhi: The Congress party on Wednesday slammed the Central government for what it called the mismanagement of Covid-19 outbreak.
Bihar Congress in charge Bhakta Charan Das said, "The central government does not have any concrete policy to battle the Covid-19. The whole country is facing the crisis of vaccines, covid-relief medicines and even there is a shortage of doctors, nurses and medical staff in the country."
"Despite the NDA government in the centre and Bihar as well, the state is facing a crisis. Vaccination is the biggest weapon against Covid-19. The central government should prevail a Universal Vaccine Policy so that the entire population could be vaccinated. Free vaccination should be given to everyone," he added.

Speaking on the expenses for various initiatives of the government he said, "Thousands of crores of rupees are being spent on Central Vista project, Ram Mandir construction, statue making, so why can't the central government spend a thousand crores on giving the free vaccine to save the lives of the public?"

Altogether 1,174 people tested positive for the virus in the state in the last 24 hours. The health department said 1,08,347 samples were tested during this period. As Covid cases have plummeted sharply in the state, the positivity rate dropped to 1.08% on Tuesday.
