New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal's national general secretary Abdul Bari Siddiqui on Wednesday said that Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should strongly put up the demand before the Prime Minister to grant special status to the state.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Siddiqui said that as the CM will be in the national capital on Wednesday, he should pitch in the demand to grant special status to Bihar as the state meets all the criteria which should be for attaining the special status.
He said that the Chief Minister should also talk to the central government regarding granting the Central University status to the Patna University.
"Chief Minister Nitish Kumar should ask for packages which are required for the state. He should demand a special package for the agriculture-based industry. He should also ask the central government to find a solution so that Nepal's water doesn't enter Bihar," the senior RJD leader added.
He further said that the CM should not make any excuses now as there is a BJP-led government in the state as well as centre.
