New Delhi: Asserting that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is himself monitoring the Tika Utsav in the state, former RLSP general secretary and senior JD(U) leader Madhaw Anand urged the opposition parties to not politicise the issue.
Bihar has ramped up its efforts to increase inoculation and the state authorities have urged people to get themselves vaccinated during the four-day programme. The Tika Utsav was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with an aim to inoculate maximum eligible beneficiaries to step up the fight against COVID.

Talking to ETV Bharat, Anand said, "Upon the directions of PM Modi, Tika Utsav is being held in the country from April 11-14. CM Nitish Kumar is himself monitoring the situation and I also urge people above 45 years of age to get themselves vaccinated."
Maintaining that Bihar has no COVID vaccine crisis, the JD(U) leader said the opposition in Bihar should refrain from doing petty political gimmicks. He said that the people of Bihar have chosen the NDA government over Mahagathbandhan.
