Youth responds positive about nightlife in Mumbai

As nightlife scheme started in Mumbai on Monday, many small shops, hotels, pubs and juice centres were seen open on the first night. However, it will take some time to fully implement nightlife in Mumbai because every hotel and shop owner will have to plan accordingly to run their business the whole night.

Mumbai: Mumbai known as the city which never sleeps is all set to become an international city. If this happens, the main transactions should be open for 24 hours. Keeping this intention, nightlife scheme started in Mumbai on Monday. In the non-residential areas, some small shops, hotels, pubs and juice centres were seen open on the first night.

However, it will take some time to fully implement nightlife in Mumbai because every hotel and shop owner will have to plan accordingly to run their business the whole night.

Shop owners said that they will need some more time for planning. The government right now has implemented nightlife in Mumbai. But, the influence is seen only to some extent. Gradually, this will be seen on a larger scale. Many people, especially youth who came to enjoy the nightlife of the city has welcomed this decision. They think that it's a great step for the teens who work vigorously in the day to have some recreation.

Nightlife proposal in Mumbai was sanctioned from 26 January and since then it has been implemented for 24 hours. This includes some limited areas in Mumbai like malls, mill compounds, Nariman Point, BKC where shops and eateries to be open for 24 hours. Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said that ''Where there is no question of security, the nightlife will be implemented. If the experiment in Mumbai proves to be successful we can think of implementing nightlife in Pune and Nagpur in the future also."

Nightlife is optional
The proposal to implement nightlife in Mumbai from 26 January was given a nod in the state cabinet meeting. The decision was taken with the aim of the creation of jobs and increasing revenue. Apart from these factors, people should get service for 24 hours. Pubs and bars will be open up to 1-30 A.M as stated earlier. But, other hotels, shops, and malls will be open for 24 hours. It was also clarified that there is no compulsion to run the business day and night. It will depend upon the businessmen if they want to implement nightlife scheme or not.
