New Delhi: Indian Youth Congress staged a protest outside Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's residence on Friday. The protest was followed after the Defence Ministry took down a document from its website which claimed 'increasing Chinese aggression' across the Line of Actual Control.
The Ministry of Defence had published a report on its website, titled "Major activities by Department of Defence for the month of April and May", where it was mentioned that there were Chinese "transgressions" in eastern Ladakh in May. Interestingly, the document was later taken down from the website.
Questioning over the "miraculous disappearance" of the report, the statement of Youth Congress stated, "It is pertinent to mention that during an All Party Meeting, Shri Narendra Modi, in an evasive monologue, said that there has been no transgressions by the Chinese PLA into Indian territory. When questions were raised on this statement, BJP leadership and its spokespersons consistently maintained that the Chinese have not transgressed."
"Deleting the report from website demonstrates a clear attempt by MoD to save the Prime Minister from embarrassment and questioning on account of the said report," it further alleged.
While protesting against the issue, several Youth Congress members were detained by the Delhi Police.
In the document of MoD, it was mentioned that the situation in Eastern Ladakh arising from the "unilateral aggression" by China continues to be sensitive and requires close monitoring and print action based on the evolving situation.
"While engagement and dialogue at military and diplomatic level continue to arrive at mutually acceptable conscientious, the present standoff is likely to be prolonged," the document stated.

चीन का सामना करना तो दूर की बात, भारत के प्रधानमंत्री में उनका नाम तक लेने का साहस नहीं है।

It is to be noted that on Thursday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also tweeted about the matter, saying, "Forget standing up to China, India's PM lacks the courage even to name them. Denying China is in our territory and removing documents from the website won't change the facts."
