Jaipur (Rajasthan): Defending his party amid the rift with Yogi-led government over migrant bus row, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot said that UP govt should have accepted even if five buses were deployed by the Congress for the poor migrants. He charged CM Yogi by coming out with 'one precondition after the another' and for not helping the exhausted workers.

He said, "Yogi govt might be doing it's job in the state but as the General Secretary of Congress Priyanka Gandhi took an initiative to deploy buses for the migrants. Rajasthan govt was not involved in this, it was a sole effort of Priyanka Gandhi. When did it become wrong to help someone during a humanitarian crisis?"

"Earlier Central govt had announced that no fitness certificate for vehicles will be needed till June 30. Yogi govt should have accepted the help offered by Congress keeping aside political differences".

Earlier, on Wednesday Sachin Pilot said that state government should not indulge in politics over migrant workers and should help in the evacuation of stranded migrant labourers.

Pilot's response came after Congress leaders staged a protest against Yogi government in Bharatpur. It is to be noted that Yogi govt had alleged that there is a discrepancy in the list of buses submitted to it by the Congress and that the list contained registration number of many two-wheeler and three-wheeler vehicles.

"Buses are lined up at Bharatpur border and everyone can go and check. Earlier, we were not permitted to arrange 1,000 buses for migrants. Now even after getting permission, Yogi-led govt is instructing that buses should be sent to Lucknow", he said when asked about the accusation by UP govt.
