According to Yediyurappa, the permission of the defence department to transfer the land is required immediately to start the construction work at Langford town metro station.

"Already, the defence ministry has transferred the land to carry out metro works at MG area and Vellara junction. In the meeting convened by defence Secretary on December 24, 2019, several issues including the land transfer procedures were resolved. Therefore, the contract has been awarded for carrying out metro works in Langford town. As the working permission has to be given for the land transfer, the project is yet to take off," the Karnataka CM said in his letter.

He further claimed that the contractor has mobilized materials to carry out the construction works in the Langford town area.

"If the defence ministry is causing any delay to give the permission it will delay the project completion along with additional financial implications. Therefore, I request the defence ministry to indulge into the matter and give the permission for transferring the defence land," he submitted.

It is to be noted that Yediyurappa has also requested Rajnath Singh to carry out aero show 2021 in Bengaluru.
