Bengaluru: Yelahanka taluk administration had seized 16 acres of government land worth Rs 35 crore that was illegally encroached by land grabbers.
The team headed by Tahsildar Raghumurthi early in the morning raided the spot and seized the land. The land, which is survey no. 19, located in Thimmasandra village near the airport.
People who were running a dhaba on the illegal land came forward to oppose but tahsildar did not step back from the action.

The officer said that the unauthorized encroachment of the land was used for fun and other unwanted work and respondents were given notice of the Ramaswamy Report. "Today we have cleared and seized illegal land."
The encroachers say they had built the house here in 2016-17 but they have no official records. He also informed that applications filed under Clause 50-53 and 94C were dismissed.
"We will not step back on any pressure: It is our duty to clear and seize illegal encroachment on government land", Tahsildar Raghumurthi said adding that the operation would continue on a daily basis without budging to any pressure.
Deputy Tahsildar Mahesh, Revenue Inspector Srinivas, village accountants, land measurers participated in the operation.
