Jodhpur: Women prisoners released from any jails of Rajasthan will be employed at several petrol pumps by Rajasthan jail headquarter to help jobless women to earn their livelihood easily.
Director-General of Police (Jail), NRK Reddy who is on a two-day visit to Jodhpur, said that the administration is contacting women prisoners who were released from the jail and don't have any job.
He said that these women will be employed at the petrol pump and will work at petrol pumps in 8 hours shifts. After a lot of efforts, the Rajasthan government has approved this work.
NRK Reddy said, "permission has been given by the government for six places right now and we hope that more places will also be approved. Director-General of Police said that if five women will work in a shift at a petrol pump, then 15 to 20 women will be able to work at one place every day. In the coming time, around 400 to 500 women will work at different petrol pumps.
"An agreement has been signed in this regard and in 3 to 4 days it will start at many petro pumps in Jaipur. Due to COVID-19, many prisoners released from jail are unable to feed themselves so we decide to provide them jobs." said NRK Reddy
