With additional troop deployment, confusion and fear prevails in J&K
Jammu and Kashmir: Tension continues to prevail in Jammu and Kashmir as additional 28,000 troops of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were deployed on Friday. This is in addition to the 10,000 troops deployed there last week.
Rao Farman Ali, a social activist from Jammu and Kashmir accused the Government of India of creating confusion and war hysteria in the valley.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Ali said, "Government of India is trying to create war hysteria in the state from the past few days. While one government representative is making one statement, another represenataive is saying something different. The central government representatives are not on the same page which has created an atmosphere of confusion and fear in the state. "
Referring to the increasing security deployment in the state, Ali said, "Forces are beig deployed one after the other. We don't understand if they have declared a war against the people of Jammu and Kashmir, especially Kashmir valley."
"Both the countries are nuclear -armed and we wish that the two countries could solve their issues amicably. Instead of spending money on healthcare, education , social security, all this money is being drained in the name of security, " added Ali.
The decision to send the troops came after National Security Advisor Ajit Doval returned from a three day (from July 24 to 26) visit to Kashmir Valley last week.
Sources said he met senior security and intelligence grid officers and reviewed the law and order situation in the state, which is still under the President's rule. He has also said to have met the COAS at the Amarnath cave for half an hour.
