New Delhi: With the impasse in Maharashtra over government formation entering its 13th day on Wednesday, after a fallout between long-time allies Bharatiya Janta Party and Shiv Sena over the latter’s demand of a "50:50 arrangement", saffron party’s National Spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain said that they will soon form a government in the state.
Despite speculations running rife about Shiv Sena toying with NCP-Congress alliance for a possible tie-up in Maharashtra, Hussain appeared confident and said, “popular mandate is with BJP and Shiv Sena and we will soon form a government.”
On Congress leader Ahmed Patel meeting Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi, Hussain said, “Politicians and legislators from across the country meet Nitin Gadkari. Ahmed Patel’s meeting with Gadkari was just another meeting regarding farmer issues. He also submitted documents pertaining to the same.”
“Ministers belong to each and every person. There is no politics involved in this meeting,” added the former Cabinet Minister.
When asked if BJP is confident of forming a government in Maharashtra, Hussain maintained, “we will form a government soon.”

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday said that the BJP should go ahead and stake claim to form the government in the state by proving their majority.
"If BJP leaders are meeting the governor tomorrow, to stake claim [at the power] then they should form the government as they are the single-largest party, we have been saying it," Raut said.
