New Delhi: In a strong-worded reaction to Pakistan's bold revelation on the Pulwama attack, India's External Affairs Ministry on Thursday said that the world knows the truth about Islamabad and its role in supporting terrorism.

Addressing a virtual media briefing, MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said, "The whole world knows the truth about Pakistan and its role in supporting terrorism. No amount of denial can hide this truth."

Srivastava said no amount of denial could hide the truth

The country which provides shelter to the maximum member of UN proscribed terrorists should not even attempt to play victim, he reiterated.

India's reaction comes after the admission of the Pakistani establishment that Pulwama was a 'great achievement' of the Imran Khan-led government.

Earlier today, speaking in the Pakistan National Assembly, the country's Federal Minister Fawad Choudhry said: "Pulwama was a great achievement under Imran Khan's leadership." While admitting Pakistan's role in the dastardly attacked that killed over 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel, he said that the country should be proud of its leader under whom 'Pakistan attacked India after entering its territory'.

"Humne Hindustan ko ghus ka mara hai, aur Pulwama main jo kamyabi hai, wo Imran Khan ki qyadat main iss ka ki kamyabi hai… use hissedaar aap bhi sab hai, use hissedar hum bhi sab hai… (We have attacked India after entering its territory, we are all part of the proud achievement under Prime Minister Imran Khan's leadership...)," Choudhry further added in the national assembly.

Choudhry's audacious revelation in the Assembly came hours after another Pakistani leader, on Wednesday, revealed that its Army chief's feet were shivering when Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was held by that country. He revealed that India was going to attack Pakistan by 9 pm that day if Varthaman was not returned.

The big disclosure by a Pakistani leader itself reflects that Pakistan has and will remain the 'safe haven' of terrorists.

Further commenting on Pakistan's remarks regarding land laws in Jammu and Kashmir, MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said that 'no country has locus standi to comment on the internal affairs of India'.

It, however, deserves a special mention that the global money laundering and terrorist financing watchdog - Financial Action Task Force, has time and again warned Pakistan for financing terrorism and carrying out other money laundering activities. FATF had given Pakistan several chances for completely checking terror financing but the nation has failed to comply with 27 points in the global watchdog's action plan and it has continued to stay in the 'grey list'.

India has repeatedly lambasted Pakistan's move for raising the Kashmir issue in the global fora and also for failing to take action against United Nations-designated terrorists such as Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar, Dawood Ibrahim and Lashkar-e-Taiba head Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi.

The MEA had earlier said that Pakistan has addressed only 21 action items so far out of the 27 action items and is yet to address six important action items.
