New Delhi: Former chairman of the Shia Waqf Board, Wasim Rizvi, on Sunday lauded RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat for his speech during annual Vijayadashmi address.
Rizvi said that whenever Mohan Bhagwat has given the message to the country, he has tried to connect India and the societies united.
In a video message, Rizvi said," If an organization like RSS opens with Muslims in other religions too, then radicalism will be ended. We Indians should be proud of CAA because we have done what no one has done."
"A tense atmosphere was created in the country that threatened communal harmony when "opportunists" took advantage of the delicate situation caused by the "myths" around the Act, and unleashed "organised violence and causing social unrest in the name of protests," Rizvi said.
"We have become the support of the destitute when the oppression was taking place. There was ruckus, arson in the country, burning of houses and many others, while there was no threat to the Muslims of India under the Citizenship Amendment Act," he added.
Reportedly, on the occasion of Vijayadashmi speech, Bhagwat said, "CAA does not oppose any particular religious community. But those who wanted to oppose this new law misled our Muslim brothers by propagating a false notion that it was aimed at restricting the Muslim population."
Notably, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday claimed that Muslims were misled into thinking the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was aimed at reducing their population.
