Bengaluru: The silicon city of India is one of the most populous cities in the country. Lakhs of people come here in search of employment, making it one of the busiest cities in the entire country. Besides the pleasant climate and fading greenery, a striking feature of the city, unfortunately, is its notorious traffic snarls. People who want to commute to the airport are the ones who often have to start very early.

But worry not. Soon you will be able to travel from the heart of the city to Bangalore Internation Airport within 10 minutes. Typically by road, it is a one an a half-hour long ordeal through the traffic.

Virgin Hyperloop, dubbed as the manufacturers of some of the fastest mobility solutions, will connect Bengaluru International Airport and Kempegowda bus stand. The US-based Virgin Hyperloop and Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), signed a memorandum-of-understanding (MoU) on September 27 to conduct a feasibility study for a proposed Hyperloop corridor. The goal of BIAL is to connect the airport and the main bus stand through Hyperloop.

The economic and route feasibility study of Hyperloop is expected to be completed in two phases in six months each. With an ability to travel speeds greater than a 1,000 kilometre per hour, it could transport thousands of passengers per hour from Bengaluru Airport to the city centre in under 10 minutes. According to studies, the transport mode of Hyperloop moves faster than an aeroplane.

Hyperloop's transportation mode is a great way to beat traffic congestions in Bangalore. Hyperloop could also be used for transporting the goods. "It is good to have an agreement with the Bangalore International Airport authority to make Enforce of Hyperloop," said Sultan Bin Suleyem.

"We intended to make Bengaluru Airport the new gateway to India by transforming it as a transportation hub. We are excited to take this landmark step which can catalyze the economic growth of the State of Karnataka and the region. Technological innovation is key to building and sustaining a world-class transportation hub. This mode of transportation offers enormous economic potential, connecting passengers at unprecedented speeds and with zero emissions. Once Hyperloop is operational in Bengaluru, the airport passengers can easily reach their Destination within 10 Minutes," said Hari Marar, MD & CEO of Bengaluru International Airport Limited.
