Kanpur: Hours after the dreaded gangster Vikas Dubey was killed in an encounter, kin of the slain constable Babloo, one of the eight cops who were killed last week, said that Vikas Dubey should have been burnt alive. The kin also has raised questions on the Yogi government and the alleged involvement of the cops who tipped the criminal.

Babloo was among eight cops killed in an encounter with history-sheeter Dubey and his accomplices in Bikru village under Chaubeypur police station limits. The cops had gone to Vikas Dubey's house to arrest him in a case of attempted murder.

"The encounter was carried out in a hasty manner. Now, it would be difficult to expose the political connections of the gangster," they said.

Constable Babloo was the first one in his village to rise above poverty and get a government job. Babloo had met his family last month when he came for four days leave.

Expressing relief over the criminal's killing, ChoteLal, Babloo's father, said, "Entire family of Vikas Dubey should be shot dead and the role of the cops involved in the ambush must be strictly probed. They should be killed in the same manner in which the cops were attacked."

"Vikas Dubey should have been burnt alive. He should have been killed in a similar manner, the way criminals killed the cops. His family should have been killed in an encounter prior to him," said Babloo's brother Dinesh.

Responding to how Yogi govt tackled the entire incident, he said, "We laud the efforts of the state government. But someone from the party was shielding him that led to such grave consequences. It's strange that a criminal had the guts to fire at the police. There should be a CBI investigation."

The killing of Vikas Dubey has raised several questions on the Yogi government with opposition leaders and activists claiming that police had killed Dubey to prevent him from revealing his links with powerful people.

Actually, the car didn't topple. The UP government has been saved from toppling by secrets that would have been revealed," tweeted Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav in Hindi.

Vikas Dubey was killed in an alleged encounter on Friday morning while UP Special Task Force(STF) was bringing him back from Madhya Pradesh. One of the vehicles of the convoy in which Dubey was seated overturned following which he attempted to flee and was shot. The criminal was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead.
