Vikas Dubey encounter: one more plea in SC to replace 3 investigating officers

A new petition has now been filed with the top court, requesting the top court to reconstitute the judicial inquiry commission by replacing ex-DGP Gupta and two others. The petitioner has alleged that Gupta's statements given to media lately showing biasness in the case.

New Delhi: A petition has now been filed with the Supreme court, seeking the removal of former Director-General of police KL Gupta, Shashi Kant Agrawal from the Judicial Inquiry Commission and Ravindra Gaur from SIT, probing gangster Vikas Dubey's encounter case.

The petition also asked for the appointment of some other former DGP from Uttar Pradesh as member of the commission.

According to reports, the petition has been filed by Ghanshyam Upadhyay, who had also sought CBI investigation into the encounter.

Upadhyay has quoted KL Gupta's statements given to media showing biasness in the case. In case of Ravinder Gaur, he contended that he is an accused in a fake encounter case and Shashi Kant Aggarwal had resigned from his judgeship and is disqualified from being a Judicial commission member, reports said.

Reportedly, Upadhyay has also suggested the names of former DGPs IC Dwivedi, S. Jaweed Ahmed, Prakash Singh.
