New Delhi: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has also raised strong objections over the controversial remarks made by Rahul Gandhi on Savarkar.
VHP International General Secretary Milind Parande in a conversation with ETV has opposed such remarks on a great devotee like Savarkar. As far as apologizing is concerned, Rahul Gandhi has been seen asking for forgiveness in different courts in the past, he said.
Rahul Gandhi simply does not have the qualities to compare himself with the great son of India 'Savarkar', he added.
On the other hand, Shiv Sena has also protested against Rahul Gandhi's remarks. However, a coalition government of Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP are running in Maharashtra. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has welcomed the stand of the Shiv Sena.
The issue of awarding Bharat Ratna to Savarkar in the Maharashtra elections was also included by the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance in their resolution letter which was also discussed.
In such a situation, can the issue of conferring the title of Bharat Ratna to Savarkar now also find emphasis?
On this question, VHP General Minister Milind Parande clearly said that this must be done and should be done soon.
On the same, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is unhappy over Rahul Gandhi's controversial remark on the Hindutva icon Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, sources said.
