New Delhi: The indigenously developed semi high-speed train - Vande Bharat Express, also known as Train 18 successfully completed its second trial run from Delhi to Kanpur on Thursday.
The trial run was conducted between the New Delhi Railway Station and Kanpur Central with having a goal to cover the distance between Delhi to Kanpur within the period of 4 hours 20 minutes. The train reached New Delhi at 15:32 after completing the trial.
The trail run was mainly conducted to gauge the response from the passengers and to check the newly updated systems of the train. According to a railway official, this rake will continue to run on the current route of New Delhi to Varanasi for the next 10 days.
After the success of first Vande Bharat Express, the same route got chosen for the second trial as well instead of doing it on a new route. The Ministry of Railways had accelerated the plan for induction of more such trains between different destinations in the days to come.
