'Thank you my friend, America loves India': Trump responds to PM Modi's wishes

Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the US President Donald Trump on America's 244th Independence Day, POTUS thanked Indian Prime Minister for his wishes and tweeted: "Thank you my friend. America loves India!"

Washington DC: US President Donald Trump on Saturday (local time) thanked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his wishes on America's 244th Independence Day.

Earlier today, Modi tweeted: "I congratulate @POTUS @realDonaldTrump and the people of the USA on the 244th Independence Day of the USA. As the world's largest democracies, we cherish freedom and human enterprise that this day celebrates. @WhiteHouse"

While replying to PM Modi's wishes, Trump tweeted: "Thank you my friend. America loves India!" The US President also attended the July 4 American Independence Day celebrations in South Dakota.

Meanwhile, addressing a crowd at Mount Rushmore, President Donald Trump highlighted incidents of violence and looting that took place amid the anti-racist protests and also blamed the left for the problems being faced by the citizens.

He also watched military displays and the annual fireworks show from the White House on Saturday.
