Upset over love marriage, Ghaziabad man leashed, thrashed by wife's family

In a viral video, a man from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh can be seen being beaten up, dragged by a leash, and asked to bark like a dog, allegedly by his wife's relatives over their love marriage.

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh): In a video going viral across social media, a man from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh can be seen being beaten up, dragged by a leash, and asked to bark like a dog, allegedly by his wife's relatives over their love marriage.

The incident, reportedly, took place a few months ago but only came to light when the video surfaced on social media.

Taking suo moto cognizance of the crime, Ghaziabad police will be recording the victim's statement and file an FIR soon.

"We came across the video, and given the sensitivity of the issue, orders have been issued to filr an FIR after speaking to the victim, " Circle Officer Prabhat Kumar told ETV Bharat.

Kumar added, "The incident will be investigated thoroughly. Strict action will be taken against the perpetrators."

In the video of the incident, the relatives of the victim's wife, who were apparently against the marriage, can be seen beating up the man with sticks even as he pleads them for mercy.
