Kaushambi (Uttar Pradesh): A primary school teacher was temporarily suspended after several girl students stopped attending the public school owing to fear of molestation in Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh.
The assistant teacher, identified as Ram Balak Singh, has allegedly molested several minor girl students during his service at the Audhan Primary School located in Nevada Panchayat of Kaushambi district.
The matter came to light on Thursday after a girl studying in class 2 of the same school confided her harrowing experience of being molested by Singh to her parents.
Furious relatives of the young student and other residents of the village went to the school and thrashed the teacher.
They later on handed over Singh to the local police officials.
Following the uproar, family members of all the students decided not to allow their children to attend school, as they fear that the teacher might try to avenge his humiliation by harassing the students in the absence of the parents.
