Varanasi( UP): It is rightly said that age is no bar when it comes to learning and teaching. And, if the environment of doing so is different and unique, learning and teaching becomes a pleasurable experience.
The Varanasi Municipal Corporation has provided such a unique ambiance of learning for children as well as elderly men and women leading a retired life by converting a junked bus into a class room.
The Varanasi Municipal Corporation has converted a condemned bus of the state road transport corporation into a school as part of its campaign to spread education among the citizens of this holy city. The outer surface of this bus has colorful alphabets and mathematical tables printed on it.
Named as ‘Shiksha Express’, the civic body has made this special school from a condemned bus of the state transport corporation. The objective of this unique bus is to educate children as well as adults residing in slums.
This unique bus is kept parked in the premises of the famous ‘Bharat Maata Mandir’ in the heart of the city from 4 to 8 pm. Over 80 children and 20 elderly men and women of the nearby slums attend the classes to learn the three basics of reading, writing and arithmetic.
