Chandigarh: Schools here reopened on Monday on a voluntary basis requiring the consent of the parents for students to attend the schools amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ministry of Home Affairs in its order mentioned that "States and UTs may permit up to 50 per cent of teaching and non-teaching staff to be called to schools for online teaching and related works from September 21."

Jammu: Schools reopened on a voluntary basis requiring the consent of the parents for students to attend the schools amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Government Ranbhir higher secondary school Principal Anjali Gupta said, "We have got instructions from the director school of education to open the school partially."

"Accordingly, those students who are facing problems with online classes due to network problems, or those who don't have android phones, so they must be given platform that they come to schools voluntarily to seek guidance from teachers," she said.

Unlock 4.0: Schools partially reopening today in parts of India

New Delhi: Schools across the country except in Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Kerala partially reopened from today as part of the relaxations allowed under  UNLOCK 4.

The students from class 9-12th have been allowed to visit schools on a voluntary basis taking guidance from their teachers  

However, written permission and consent of parents/guardians to attend school is necessary.

SOPs to be followed by students/teachers/employees at schools:  

1 Physical distancing of at least 6 feet to be followed as far as feasible.

2 Use of face covers/masks to be made mandatory.

3 Frequent handwashing with soap even when hands are not visibly dirty.

4 Use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers can be done wherever feasible.

5 Covering one’s mouth and nose while coughing/sneezing with a tissue/handkerchief/flexed elbow and disposing off used tissues properly.

6 Self-monitoring of health by all and reporting any illness at the earliest.

7 Spitting shall be strictly prohibited.
