New Delhi: The countrywide lockdown in containment zones has been extended till June 30, while hospitality services, hotels and shopping malls will be allowed to open from June 8, the Union home ministry said on Saturday.
Termed 'Unlock 1', the Centre on Saturday issued fresh guidelines relaxing the nationwide lockdown, the fourth phase of which ends on May 31.
In the new directives, the Union home ministry said re-opening of prohibited activities in areas outside containment zones will be done in a phased manner from June 1.
KNOW WHAT WILL BE ALLOWED FROM JUNE 8:
Religious places and places of worship for public, hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services and shopping malls will be permitted to open from June 8, 2020. Govt will issue guidelines and a detailed plan later.
Schools, colleges, educational, training, coaching institutions will be opened after consultations with states and Union Territories, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines.
Dates for the opening of International air travel of passengers, operation of Metro Rail, cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks etc. will be decided after assessment of the situation.
ANY FRESH GUIDELINES ON NIGHT CURFEW?
The guidelines also revised the night curfew timing stating movement of individuals will now be prohibited between 9 pm and 5 am across the country.
WHAT'S FOR CONTAINMENT ZONES?
Lockdown shall continue to remain in force in the Containment Zones till June 30. As per the new guidelines, only essential services will be allowed. In containment zones, there will be intensive contact tracing, house-to-house surveillance and other clinical interventions, as required. States will identify Buffer Zones outside Containment Zones, where new cases are more likely to occur.
CAN PEOPLE TRAVEL ACROSS STATES?
Yes. There shall be no restriction on inter-state and inter-state movement of persons and goods. No separate permission/approval/ e-permit will be required for such movements.
IS AAROGYA SETU MANDATORY?
As per the guidelines, with a view to ensure safety in offices and work places, employers on best effort basis should ensure that Aarogya Setu is installed by all employees having compatible mobile phones.
"District authorities may advise individuals to install Aarogya Setu application on their phones and update their health status on the app," said MHA.
ANY HEALTH ADVISORY FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN?
Persons above 65 years of age, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women, and children below the age of 10 years are advised to stay at home, except for essential and health purposes.
