Union Minister Paswan terms Delhi violence as 'national disgrace'

Terming the Delhi violence as a 'national disgrace,' Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said that an impartial probe should be conducted, and stringent action be taken against the guilty irrespective of their caste and religion.

New Delhi: Union Minister and the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Ram Vilas Paswan has termed the violent incidents in Delhi as a 'national disgrace.'

Speaking to media, he said that people were killed, vehicles were set ablaze, entire locality was set on fire, what could be more disgraceful than this?

"I strongly condemn the violence in Delhi over the last few days. An impartial probe should be conducted, and stringent action should be taken against the guilty irrespective of their caste and religion. People should have faith in the investigation and all those responsible, including those who gave hate speeches, should be punished," he said.

He further added that the visit of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to riot-hit areas to interact with locals and review the security measures underlines the Union government's seriousness in the matter.

It is to be noted that the death toll in Delhi's violence has gone up to 43, while more than 250 people have been injured.
