New Delhi: Former Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupendra Singh Hooda has expressed disappointment over the Union Budget 2019 presented by the country's first full-time woman finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Parliament on Friday.
He termed the annual budget as "disappointing" and said that it doesn't serve any purpose.
Speaking to the media Hooda said that the government didn’t propose any plan with regard to employment generation and did not even address the farm crisis.
"We had expected that Swaminathan (MS Swaminathan) report will be implemented this time but this budget disappointed the farmers. Farmers are going through a major crisis but there was no mention about any pro-farmer scheme or policy in the budget," said Hooda.
He further said that there has been a marginal increase of 3% in Minimum Support Price (MSP). During the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance's term, it used to increase by 6 to 15%.
