New Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested two suspected members of banned terrorist outfit Khalistan Zindabad Force, officials said on Sunday. They have been identified as Inderjeet Singh Gill and Jaspal Singh, police said.
The two had allegedly raised a 'Khalistan' flag on the terrace of the deputy commissioner's office in Punjab's Moga on the eve of Independence Day and also desecrated an Indian flag in the premises, a senior police officer said.
Acting on a tip-off, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjiv Yadav apprehended the terrorists at Karnal Road. The accused have been taken in police custody and a case has been registered.
It must be noted Khalistan Zindabad organisation had announced that any person who would raise Khalistan's flag on August 15 would be awarded 2.5 dollars. Inderjeet Singh Gill and Jaspal Singh hoisted the Khalistan flag in Punjab's Moga district following a local complaint was also registered. Primary investigation has revealed that both the accused were planning to flee.

Yesterday, an alleged ISIS operative, Mohammad Mustakim Khan alias Abu Yusuf, armed with two pressure cooker IEDs, was arrested in central Delhi's Ridge Road area on August 21 following a brief exchange of fire. Following Yusuf's arrest, the special cell of the Delhi Police has managed to eke out several other important details.
Khan was connected with the other suspected operatives via several social media platforms, and had also learnt how to make IEDs in the same way, sources said.
