Truck carrying migrant workers overturns in Uttar Pradesh, one killed

Bariach(Uttar Pradesh):One migrant woman was killed and 42 persons injured after their truck overturned in Bariach district of Uttar Pradesh. 

Early this morning, the truck reportedly collided with the electric poll, following which the vehicle lost control. A group of  around 60 labourers were on their way in the truck to Uttar Pradesh from Mumbai in Maharashtra.

"The bus collided with a tree and the driver lost his balance,triggering panic in the area. As soon as the incident came to light, police force rushed to the spot and all the injured workers were taken to Medical College", said Superintendent of Police, Ajay Pratap.

"Condition of worker is critical and the rest of them are undergoing treatment", he added.

The tragic incident highlighted the plight of the migrant workers hit by coronavirus lockdown who reportedly left Mumbai after facing starvation. According to reports, the non-availability of beds in hospital are causing problems for the workers.
