Former chairperson of National Green Tribunal, Justice Swatanter Singh said 'climate change' should be a concern for one and all. It is a 'subject' that concerns people of great acumen, as well the average individual.

New Delhi: A global protest was held on Friday across countries to raise voices over the constant changing of the earth's temperature.

Addressing a gathering organised by the Capital foundation society, former chairperson of National Green Tribunal, Justice Swatanter Singh said that 'climate change' should be a concern for one and all. It is a 'subject' that concerns people of great acumen, as well the average individual.

Justice Singh, in his speech, spoke about the need to preserve the environment, especially with the growing demands.

Speaking about the Constitution, Justice Singh emphasized the expansion of Article 21 that now has the Right to decent and clean environment attached to it.

Justice Singh along with chairperson of environment pollution (Prevention and Control) authority Dr. Bhure Lal and other eminent environmentalists spoke on the need to save the environment and take action against the alarming rate at which climate change is occurring.

"Our ancestors and forefathers used to worship nature for protection, while today humans have resorted to worshipping nature for opposite reasons," added Justice Singh.

Intro:New Delhi: Urging humans to take care of the environment, Former chairman of National Green Tribunal Justice Swatenter Singh said that we have to keep environment as simple subject concerned with our day to day life.

Adressing a gathering organised by Capital foundation society here in the capital he said climate change is made to sound as a very scientific subject which is so very understandable only with the people having great acumen, while it is a subject of common man. He advised to treat environment as a simple subject, concerned with everybody.

Hailing the framers of the constitution of India as far as concern about the environment is concerned, Justice Singh said how rich they were in their thinking not only the directive principles, fundamental duties of citizens but the most important is the expansion of Article 21 that is Right to life and Supreme Court expanded that to say Right to decent and clean environment is the right to life.

Justice Singh along with chairman of environment pollution (prevention and control) authority Dr. Bhure Lal and other eminent environmentalists spoke on need to save the environment by thinking globally.

"Our ancestors and forefathers use to worship nature but today we worship it for different reason and earlier we were worshipping for its protection." added Justice Singh.
