BJP chief JP Nadda said on Sunday that the Nitish Kumar government took care of the people of Bihar amid the COVID-19 pandemic, asserting that it is important that the leadership of the state is secured with him. Addressing an election rally at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Gaya, Nadda listed the development works done by the NDA government at the Centre in the last six years in the state.

A West Bengal court on Sunday ordered eight days of police custody for Balbinder Singh, who was arrested with weapons during the Nabanna rally at GT Road in Howrah.Singh was taken to court a day prior to the appointed day. The judge gave the verdict in the Howrah court today.

4. UK to test anti-TB BCG vaccine against Covid-19

Scientists in the UK will begin recruiting frontline healthcare workers to test if an old vaccine used to combat tuberculosis (TB), the Bacillus Calmette-Guerin, or BCG jab, can be repurposed to help boost immunity against the novel coronavirus as well. The University of Exeter in south-west England said on Sunday that it is leading the UK arm of the worldwide research called the BCG vaccination to Reduce the impact of COVID-19 in healthcare workers (BRACE) trial.

China announced Sunday that it was providing a $90 million grant to Sri Lanka, two days after the island nation's President sought help from a visiting Chinese delegation in disproving a perception that China-funded megaprojects are “debt traps.”
