4. Jaipur: FIR against Ramdev, others for claiming to develop COVID-19 cure

After Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev claimed that he had developed a drug to cure coronavirus, Rajasthan Police has registered an FIR against Ramdev, his associate Balkrishna, NIMS Director Dr Tomar. The complaint was filed by an advocate Balram Jakhar saying that claims by Patanjali have criminal intention and it has come at a time when the nation is reeling under the coronavirus crisis.

5. Fuel prices hike halts: Petrol selling at Rs 80.38/litre, diesel at Rs 80.40/litre in Delhi

The continuous surge in rates of petrol and diesel prices for 21 consecutive days came to a halt on Sunday with no increase in prices. In Delhi, petrol is selling at Rs 80.38 per litre while diesel is a tad costlier at Rs 80.40 per litre. The rates have not increased today following the hike in the price of petrol by Rs 0.25 per litre, and diesel by Rs 0.21 per litre on June 27.

6. Locust attacks in Uttar Pradesh, districts put on alert

Swarms of locusts have invaded several districts of Uttar Pradesh in the last 48 hours. According to the Agriculture Department, people have been told to make loud noise by beating 'thaalis' and other utensils and police sirens will also be blared and smoke would be used to chase the locusts away.

7. India first country to control locusts through drones: Agriculture Ministry

The agriculture ministry in a release on Saturday stated that India is the first country to control locust by using drones after finalising the protocols and getting all statutory approvals. Ground control teams are constantly tracking the locusts and will undertake major control operations once they settle down.
