Recoveries among COVID-19 patients in the country surged to 20,96,664 on Thursday, pushing India's recovery rate to 73.91 per cent, while only 0.28 per cent people of 6,86,395 active cases are on ventilator support. Of the active cases of coronavirus infection, 1.92 per cent are in ICU and 2.62 per cent on oxygen support. The country's case fatality rate has further declined to 1.90 per cent.

Earlier, this month Islamabad High Court (IHC) had formed a larger bench to hear the petition case pertaining to the appointment of legal representative for Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav, who is on death row in Pakistan.

4. India won't be able to provide employment to its youth in coming time: Rahul Gandhi

Asserting that a large number of small and medium businesses will shut down after the moratorium period, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said the country will soon not be able to provide employment to its youth for the first time in its history. Gandhi, in a virtual press conference, said the unorganised sector is responsible for 90 per cent employment in the country and asserted that many of them will go out of business soon after the moratorium period, creating an employment crisis.

5. Chemist body AIOCD writes to Jeff Bezos, says e-pharmacies are 'illegal'

The top body of chemists and druggists has shot off a letter to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos on the world's largest online retailer entering the online pharmacy space in India, saying e-pharmacies are "illegal" and not allowed under the country's laws.
