India and the US inked a landmark defence agreement that will allow sharing of high-end military technology, classified satellite data and critical information between the two countries. The signing of the long-negotiated Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement (BECA) during the third edition of the 2+2 dialogue between the two strategic partners also signals further boosting of bilateral defence and military ties and it comes in the backdrop of India's tense border standoff with China in eastern Ladakh.

2. SIT formed in Haryana's student murder case; accused arrested

A ten-member Special Task Force has been formed after a woman was allegedly shot dead by a man in Ballabgarh on Monday when the victim went to college to appear for her examination. The two accused involved in the incident has been arrested.

The Reserve Bank on Tuesday asked all lending institutions, including non-banking financial companies, to implement the waiver of interest on interest for loans up to Rs 2 crore for the six months moratorium period beginning March 1, 2020.

7. Afghan civilian casualties drop by 30 percent: UN

The number of civilian casualties in Afghanistan has dropped by 30 percent in the first nine months of this year, the lowest since 2012, the UN mission in the country said in a report on Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia will allow foreign pilgrims, between the age of 18-50, to enter the country to perform 'Umrah' (the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca) starting from Sunday onwards, media reports said on Tuesday.
