Chennai: A person has been identified positively with Coronavirus in Chennai, informed Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Beela Rajesh on Sunday.
Talking to reporters, Beela Rajesh said, one positive case of coronavirus has been detected in Chennai and the person he is now stable and in the hospital under treatment.
Beela Rajesh further said: "There is no need to panic. Do's and Don'ts are given at all public places for creating awareness.
Awareness in schools, colleges and other public places been done. So far we have 8500 passengers and 57 flights arrive from different destinations who are thoroughly screened for any symptoms.
As per the government of India, every day we are getting fresh instructions to follow. Also, all international flight and all international travel passengers are being informed of this disease and we are getting all their contact details. If they are symptomatic immediately we shift them to the hospital and if they are not then depending on their country they come from, we keep them under home surveillance as well," she stated.
People should not panic but at the same time do not be careless as it is an airborne disease, she said.
