Kozhikode: We have seen tough tactics used by some police officers to enforce the country's 21-day lockdown. But here there is a twist to the story. The civil police personnel attached to Thottilpalam police station in Kozhikode district in Kerala has released an album song to spread awareness about COVID-19.
The album song presented by Thottilpalam Janamaithri police under the guidance of Station House Officer Jacob MT, Sub Inspectors PK Jithesh and Radhakrishnan urge people to unite in the fight against novel Coronavirus.
The song emphasizes the importance of staying indoors during the lockdown period enforced to prevent the spread of coronavirus. It reminds people to break the chain of transmission by washing one's hands frequently, using personal protective equipment the right way and following the rules for standard and contact isolation.
Sung by civil police officer Deepa Kayakodi, the lyrics of the song has been written by another civil police officer Abdullakutty. Sugunan R K, a media person has done recording works of the album. Babu Perambra, Binila Dineshan and Aghila Kuttyadi were also part of the album song.
Earlier, a video demonstrating effective handwashing as prescribed by the World Health Organisation posted on the Facebook page of Kerala State Police Media Centre, had gone viral. In the video, six police personnel, wearing masks were seen dancing and demonstrating how to wash one's hands, to Nanjamma's 'Kalkatha...' song from the movie Ayyappanum Koshiyum.
