Guru Vidyapeeth provides free meals to Covid-19 warriors in Karnataka

Guru Vidyapeeth, a privately-owned organisation in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district, has been serving nutritious food three times a day to hundreds of frontline Covid-19 warriors since April 13.

Kalaburagi: While governments have been struggling to meet the needs of those at the frontline of the fight against coronavirus disease, several organisations and civilians have come forward to lend a helping a hand.

Guru Vidyapeeth, a privately-owned organisation in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district, has been serving nutritious food three times a day to hundreds of frontline Covid-19 warriors in the district since April 13.

Inspired by the noble gesture, several volunteers including children have offered their services to the organisation.

More than 100 volunteers are now engaged in cooking, packing and delivering the meals.

Karnataka on Sunday set another record with 299 Covid-19 cases in a single day, taking the total number of cases to 3,221.
