Tezpur: As the country commemorates the Kargil Vijay Diwas on Friday, in a solemn ceremony in Assam's Tezpur, the Indian army at Gajraj corps paid their respects to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the 1999 Kargil conflict.
Lt. General, Manoj Pande laid a wreath at the Gajraj War Memorial.
The 20th anniversary of "Operation Vijay" is being celebrated with the theme 'Remember, Rejoice and Renew'.
On July 26 1999, the Indian armed forces had then defeated Pakistan. Since then, the day is celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas.
