New Delhi: As many as 10 states in India are still a major concern for the Union Health Ministry, as these states and UTs account for 78 per cent of COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours Maharastra is leading the list of states with the maximum number of deaths (180) in the last 24 hours.
As per Health Ministry statistics, India registered 776 deaths in the last 24 hours, out of which 78 per cent of the deaths are from the 10 states. Tamil Nadu recorded 70 deaths, followed by Karnataka 59, Uttar Pradesh 58, West Bengal 56, Punjab 46, Andhra Pradesh 37, Delhi 37, Madhya Pradesh 35 and Chhatisgarh 29.

A total of 70,589 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours and these 19 states account for 73 per cent of new cases. The maximum number of cases have been reported from Maharastra (11,921), followed by Karnataka (6892), Tamil Nadu (5589), Andhra Pradesh (5487), Kerala (4538), Uttar Pradesh (3790), Chhatisgarh (3725), Assam (3644), Odisha (3235) and West Bengal (3155).
India's recovery rate is 83 per cent on Tuesday with the recovery of 84,877 people recorded in the last 24 hours. The total number of recovered cases in India has crossed 51,01,397. As per statistics, 73 per cent of new recoveries have been reported from Maharastra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Odisha, Kerala, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh.
Maharastra is leading the list of states with maximum recovery (20,000) followed by Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh (7,000 each).
