Mumbai: India's iconic hotel, The Tata Group's Taj Mahal Palace has taken a step further by offering the rooms for physicians working on COVID-19 duty.
According to sources, the Taj Mahal Palace, owned by Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), has thrown open the doors of his luxury hotels for the medical personnel who are treating coronavirus patients.
"During such a gloomy situation, we at IHCL are keenly aware of our responsibility towards our community. As a reflection of our commitment, beginning today, we are offering rooms for the medical fraternity to stay while they combat the spread of the virus." an IHCL spokesperson said.
"These rooms will be available across 5 of our hotels in Mumbai namely Taj Mahal Palace, Taj Lands End, Taj Santacruz, The President, and Ginger MIDC Andheri. We deeply value the contribution from the medical community and will continue to work with them as well as the local authorities as we navigate through this crisis," the spokesperson added.
Notably, the hospitality business of Tata Sons has donated ₹1,500 crores for giving proper equipment, testing kits, setting up treatment facilities and respiratory systems across the country.
