Suspected militants kidnap cop in JK's Shopian

A policeman was kidnapped by suspected militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district on Thursday. Further investigation in the matter is underway.

Srinagar: Suspected militants on Thursday late evening kidnapped a policeman from his house in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district.

Constable Javaid Ahmad Parray was kidnapped by unknown gunmen from his house at Chatwatan, a police official said, adding that the cop was currently posted with SDPO Zakura in Srinagar.

He said security forces have been alerted and operations launched to track down the kidnappers and rescue the cop.
