Suspected mentally ill person stabs ten people in Bengaluru

A suspected mentally ill person stabbed ten people and killed two. The accused had undergone treatment at Nimhans.

Bengaluru: On Monday, a person named Ganesh went amok and stabbed 10 people on the road. The incident took place under the western division of the Cottonpet police station. The cops have taken the accused into custody and he is being interrogated.

The accused, Ganesh used a knife to stab ten people and ended up killing two. The Cottonpet police arrested Ganesh soon afterwards. At the hearing, the mother of the accused has informed the police that her son had been treated at Nimhans for two years. Ganesh is mentally stable now, police said.

Ganesh had been away from his wife of four years and lived with his mother at Anjanappa Garden. When the police arrested the accused and questioned him as to why he committed the crimes, he just replied saying that he was 'mentally ill'. Police say that the accused deliberately committed the offence and are preparing to present the accused again in court.
