Mumbai (Maharashtra): Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Monday said that the post mortem report of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput "clearly states" that he died by suicide while stressing that Mumbai police would investigate reports of professional rivalry as a cause of death.
"The post mortem report of Sushant Singh Rajput clearly states that the actor died by suicide. The information that is being peddled by the media that a rivalry in the film industry forced him to take this extreme step will be investigated by the police department, "said Deshmukh in a video message.
Rajput, 34, who was found dead in his apartment in suburban Mumbai on Sunday, was cremated in the city on Monday in the presence of family members and close friends from the film and television industry.

His death has come as another shock for the film fraternity, still recovering from the deaths of Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor and Basu Chatterjee.
