New Delhi: Exhorting confidence to get favourable judgement from Supreme Court on the issue of Maharashtra government formation, the BJP on Monday said the Shive Sena, Congress and others asking for a floor test in state assembly before MLAs taking oath as members of the house was "unreasonable".
"They should know it. They perhaps don't know that until and unless the MLAs take oath, floor test can't be done," BJP national spokesperson Bizay Sonkar Shastri told ETV Bharat here.
He said the Supreme Court would take decision keeping the set practices in mind and it would be in the favour of BJP.
On being asked if the BJP had support of the NCP MLAs, he answered in affirmative, saying the BJP had a letter of support signed by the leader of legislators of that party.
"We have the list (of MLAs)," he said.
"NCP was formed because Sharad Pawar was not happy with the Congress. Similarly, Shiv Sena has also been against the Congress," the BJP leader said, asking what sort of an alliance have they formed.
Shastri also denied any poaching of MLAs as was being alleged by the rival parties.
Talking about NCP chief, Sharad Pawar, who was instrumental in forming the tripartite alliance of Shiv Sena, NCP and the Congress, the BJP leader said: "He is a good leader and he should also think about the interests of the people (of Maharastra)".
