Gurdaspur (Punjab): Congress candidate Raj Kumar Chabbewal from Punjab's Hoshiarpur took a jibe at Bharatiya Janta Party's star candidate Sunny Deol, who has been fielded from Gurdaspur, saying that the saffron party may field Sunny Deol or Sunny Leone, neither would be able to withstand Congress' election wave.

"Modi government has failed. They can't find candidates even for three seats in Punjab. They've fielded Sunny Deol in Gurdaspur. BJP can bring Sunny Deol or Sunny Leone, but no one will be able to stand before this 'aandhi' (storm)," said Chabbewal while campaigning from Hoshiarpur on Friday.

The 62-year-old star-turned-politician has filed his nomination from Gurdaspur and is up against Congress candidate and sitting MP Sunil Jhakhar.

Punjab will vote on May 19 in the last phase of the national election. Results will be out on May 23.
