New Delhi: India has made universal thermal screening mandatory for all flights from Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and China.
Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan told in the Parliament on Friday that all flights from these countries will park at earmarked aero-bridges to facilitate screening.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has asked state governments to be more vigilant to avert every possible outbreak of Novel Coronavirus.
Union Health Secretary Preeti Sudan had video conferencing with all the state health secretaries and reviewed preparedness for the prevention and management of Novel Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, all 645 Indian evacuees from Wuhan city of China have tested Novel Coronavirus negative, sources in the Health Ministry said.
Officials said that as on Thursday evening, 1,38,750 passengers from 1,265 flights have been screened for Novel Coronavirus illness.
"All 645 evacuees from Wuhan, China have tested negative for Novel Coronavirus. In addition, 510 samples have been tested by ICMR network laboratories of which all have tested negative except 3 already tested positive. The 3 positive cases are clinically stable," said officials.
Sources said that Director General of Health Service (DGHS) have been in constant touch with all stakeholders in this connection.
"Senior officials in Health Ministry and DGHS are discussing various technical issues including review period of follow up required for asymptomatic travellers from China," officials said.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Minister is also in constant touch with all state governments and taking adequate measures for the management of Novel Coronavirus in India.
